| SAN urgent call for action: Housing Dignity in Clallam County The Social Action Network at OUUF is closely following a proposal before the Clallam County Commissioners that would limit people from living in RVs, tents, yurts, ADUs, and other nontraditional dwellings for more than 60 days—even on private or rented land with sanitation in place—unless the site is a licensed park. If adopted, this policy could displace individuals and families who are currently safely housed. It runs counter to our UU values of inherent worth and dignity, equity, and compassion—especially for those most impacted by housing insecurity. This ongoing issue was recently covered in the Peninsula Daily News: https://www.peninsuladailynews.com/news/clallam-commissioners-to-continue-policy-discussions-on-rvs-adus/ If you feel called to share your perspective, please consider emailing the County Commissioners as soon as possible, ideally by early Tuesday morning. The Commissioners’ regular meeting is Tuesday, February 10, at 10:00 a.m. Comments may be sent to:LONI.GORES@CLALLAMCOUNTYWA.GO |
